Default Question for you "rich" people out there.....

How do you make your money?
I am 22 and I have 2 jobs. One is full time $35k/year and the other is a small part time night job 10k/year.
I also do a little buying and selling here to make extra cash.

How do you guys make money? I don't want to work forever so I want to bust my ass now and make all the money possible. I am going to be a landlord within the year. However, I wont see profit from that for 20 years or so, or once the houses are paid for.

Any suggestions?

first of all, as a wealthy client told me-
wealth is not money- wealth is health and happiness. money can help, but its not the solution.
my clients have taught me:
figure out how to do something different and dont do it for someone else (work for yourself)...
first spend a few years watching how the successful folks you work for do it. what is it that they do that makes them successful? then go out and do it better. also plan on very hard work for several years-
or you can do as ninegrand and midnight runner suggest!!

I have many plans just too lazy to execute them right now because of college being in the way, but If i decide to push college over I can have a way to make 60K or more annually I just decide not too because I believe I'll make more if I graduate and requires a little bit less work..
I dont know though that money does sound very tempting

finish school $60k is not much in the scheme of things...unless there is a lot of upside potential.

Also, "rich" is hard to define...more money=more toys...but there is always someone richer than you...so just figure out what YOU want and then go get it...

Hey Jimbo69NY,

I'm in the same situation as you income wise. I don't feel comfortable with a 300K loan for a condo. Can you PM or post here how you went about affording property?

As I recall, Ithaca is an expensive place to live. I'm in SF and it's not much different. Thanks.

I havent bought anything yet. I am going to start out by purchasing a duplex.
Im going to live in half and rent out the other half. The money I collect from the other half will cover my morgage. I will then save up money and buy a second duplex.
Eventualy I will move out of the first one and into a house of my own. Then I will have 4 rented units all giving me income in addition to my 45k/year.

Thats what Im thinking about right now. Eventualy I may buy or build an appartment complex.
