i really like xbox. my roommate has one and we play halo on it all the time. i don't have too much experience with ps2 so i can't really comment on that one, but xbox has great graphics and i really like the ergonomics of the controllers. it also has the option of hooking up to multiple other xboxs so that you can play with as many of your friends as you want. either one is a good buy. to my understanding ps2 has more games, but the games i've played on xbox have all been pretty good. hope this helps...

I just "borrowed" my brother's PS2. He only has three games for it, but I'm already bored with them after a week. The only one that I play is GT3. That being said, I've never played an xbox, but halo looks pretty damn cool.

Do Not Get A Gamecube! They sucketh!
I have a PS2 and looooove it. A lot of the games do get boring after a while, but you gotta get the good ones:
GT3, GTA3, GTA:Vice City, SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals.
You get those four games and you'll be set.
Never played with an XBox. With the PS2 you get DVD already ready already. Just pop in a DVD. I heard for the Xbox you have to buy something seperate in order for it to play DVDs.

I started out with a PS2 and liked it alright, except that in 6 months time I had 3 go belly up and just never bothered to return and swap the last one for another....gave all my games away etc.... they would all start having problems reading the disc's.
At first it would just be the "blue" disc (which the racing game I played was on)
and finally get to the point that they would not read ANY disc period. IMHO the PS2 graphics aren't as good as the Xbox,
but neither are as good as a pc with a geforce 3 or better video card.
Anyway my Xbox has never given me a single problem and I love the sega gt game (it has an S2000 in it) And Unreal Championship is killer.... I got the Xbox live starter kit and still need a long enough cat 5 to get to my hub. And Hitman 2 is a wonderful combination of Myst and a first person shooter. Given my experience with the 2 systems I would have no problems suggesting the Xbox.

I had an XBOX and a PS2 over the summer...
At the end of summer, I had to sell one of the systems due to a sudden increase in school book prices. In the end, I sold the XBOX due to the fact that the PS2 has more staying power. As soon as I can afford one, though, I will get another XBOX
