Loyal to the Playstation since it came out. I've always hated Sega, so I didn't bother with the Dreamcast. Microsoft sucks, so I've concluded that the Xbox will too. Nintendo is good, but Playstation is better.

Well I just ended up buying a PS2, with Madden & Metal Gear Solid 2. I'm loving it so far but that Metal Gear game is WAY TOO HARD for a beginner like myself.

What the article fails to mention is that ANY developer that writes a windoze game and easily port it to xbox.

There as many, if not more games for the PC as the PS2.

 

Well, I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there... I just bought a bargain priced Dreamcast, and Sega Rally 2 was one of the titles I was really looking forward to. HOWEVER, to me it's no better than the rally mode in GT3, and in fact it's actually worse because the graphics are much inferior to the PS2's. Once again the courses are closed loops, which is the most unrealistic thing about any rally video game. The menus are poorly designed, the course names are dumb (desert, mountain, snow... why couldn't they use Kenya, Argentina, Finland, etc.?) and there's no replay mode!

Since you are in the UK, you are lucky enough to be able to buy the new WRC game for the PS2, and it's supposed to be the best console-based rally game around. It's not available in the US and I'm mad as hell. There are at least a couple more rally titles scheduled for the future, so keep your eyes open.

BACK TO THE SUBJECT: just one quick comment. The very fact that ANYONE is asking the question "XBox or PS2" indicates to me that Microsoft is in big trouble. The only way MS stood a chance with the XBox was for it to be positioned as the obvious choice for all new console purchasers. I used to play this in the arcade all the time.... It was such a great game.... I don't think I have never played a better arcade game ....
