Even if you aren't a fan of DMB there are many, many far worse musical acts out there who pale by comparison. Send them your hate instead!
Hating A Simple Plan is part and parcel with actually growing up.

I used to love them from '94-'02 or so. I've seen them around 12 times in concert and had a blast at every one. I lost interest as I got older. I'm no musical savant but I thought they had a unique, enjoyable sound when they first hit the scene.

Not a fan either, he lost me a long time ago with that "hike up your skirt little boy" line.

Dude, you are not alone. I hated for the same reason. Then, like in 1993, someone explained the actual line to me. I was really confused for a while. "Hike up your skirt little boy?" Wrong on so many levels.

Hike up your skirt a little more and show the world to me... in a boys dream.
DMB is not for everyone, and sometimes i actually think to many people like them. But to say Dave has an Ego is insane. DMB gives away tons of money to charity and thanks everyone for showing at a show like MSG as if they were still playing in bars... honestly one of the most humble guys in music these days.
But if you hate them how would you know that?

Michael Franti started walking without shoes for anti-poverty campaign. That was in 2000. . . aside from when he has to wear shoes, he doesn't. THAT'S putting your money where your mouth is (or feet are, as the case may be).
You were more on track when you said "too many people like him." Most bands are ruined by their own fan base, not by their music.

It's the weirdest thing. Dave Matthews Band is talented (so I hear), racially diverse, and generally do their own thing rather than sound like everyone else. Let us also not forget that college-age students are legally required to be fans. All aspects mentioned here (except the last) says I should like DMB, yet, I hate the band.
