Default Plasma TV Help

We need to buy a new TV. We have a nice sized room (26X22) but it is sort of sectioned off and we use 2/3 rds for the family room. We looked at 50" projection tv's but the footprint is big and I don't want such a large piece in the room.

I am considering a 42" Plasma tv, but don't know much about them. If anyone has one and has an opinion I would appreciate the feedback.

Thanks

Why don't you get one of those cool projection things? A projection screen too and you can watch DVD's etc on a huge screen.

The plasma TV is about twice the price of an LCD projector. If the LCD will work in daytime light levels (and I don't know if it will), I'd go with that. But I gotta tell ya, I've seen the 42" Plasma Panasonic and Sony and they are spectacular but the money!!!!

If you want to spend money like it is going out of style then Plasma is the way to go. The Panasonic ones are the best.

If you're more frugal, large screen HDTV projection TVs are pretty, if you go with those, Sony would be at the top of the list.

Have you seen the new Samsung DLP projection TVs? They been getting pretty good reviews. They have a relatively small footprint and only weight about 80lbs. http://www.samsungelectronics.com/tv/proje...tv/hlm507w.html

They come in 43" 50" and 61".

I have a state of the art DLP Projector that you can adjust the screen size up to 120". It is very compact has a contrast ratio of 500:1, pixels are not visible on the screen (benefit of Digital Light Processor-micro mirrors. I also purchased an additional xenon bulb so this thing will last a long time. Includes a Sony DreamStation DVD Home Theatre in a box. All for $3000. Travelcase included.
