Default PA Cops..

The other night im sittin in my truck at a redlight in the left lane, and on the other side of the road stopped in the right lane, heading the opposite direction is a cop stopped there. So im sitting, waiting, and all of a sudden, the cop puts the lights on, no siren, just lights, and goes through the light and soon as hes through, he shuts em off and just goes.. not chasing anyone.. just, goes..

I noticed this happening and the worse one Ive seen yet is same situation except the cop put his lights on and came up and over the center median, into the on coming lane, and turned into his own lane.. and then just kept going.. not chasing anyone, or driving fast, actually in these instances, the cops drive decently slow.. anyone know why? or explain this??

I'd guess it's called a radio..........my guess is the cop is responding to an urgent call cross town. The lights are to keep YOU from turning into him if the light changes before he gets thru.

Just my guess...............

Its called 'power abuse'. I see cops all the time here just putting on their lights or sirens just to pass a red light, and then, they turn it off and continue on with their drive....

but oh well....they do it all the time...

There's lots of corrupt cops, even traffic cops, that will use their power or authority to break the law.. They're pretty good around here, but depends on your location.. If I were you, or if you see this happen again, chase after him, pull him over, get his license plate, and write him up a fake ticket

I would agree that it is just a cop that didn't feel like sitting at a red light.......

What is the big deal with sitting at a red light though. Especially if you are a cop.

If they got the power to do so, they probably will.

Power corrupts.

One night I was out cruising in my S, and a cop blew past me! I mean, he was going at least 20 over the speed limit in town. No siren, no lights - anyway, I saw him turn in ahead at a Hardees. I pulled in, just to see what was happening, and I saw him in line, getting ready to order - guess he was really hungry...
