Oh yessssss-another Floriduh moment
FHP: Drunken mom ran over stop sign on way to pick up 9-year-old at school.
A Chuluota woman was intoxicated and ran over a sign Tuesday, and she did it while driving to a school to pick up her 9-year-old child, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Margaret Lily, 31, faces charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident, state troopers said.
Authorities were alerted after a school crossing guard saw a 2007 Saturn run over a stop sign near John Walker Elementary School on Snow Hill Road in Chuluota. The crossing guard recognized the car as belonging to a parent of a student at the school and notified school officials, troopers said.
Someone from the school took Lily's keys so she could not drive away, FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said.
When troopers arrived, Lily told them she was there to pick up her child but did not remember hitting a stop sign.
