number 1 reason not to wash your beater car
i finally got around to washing my beater yesterday, there were seemingly inches of crap on it. I drive out of the car wash and...boom, i get pulled over...expired inspection sticker. here my car has had an expired inspection sticker on it since november, and i could not see it because of the dirt on the winshield....neither could the cops. Now i have a 90 dollar fine and a clean beater. lesson learned.

I once had a car (it was a beater, but also my only car at the time) that would break down every time I washed it. It would cause arcing inside the distributor cap, and I'd have to replace the distributor cap.
I figured it was trying to tell me something, so I stopped washing it.

...and in the case of my beater...it protects against nuclear fallout as well.
