that will just mean people like me can get gas quicker on the 15th.

no 1 day protests on gas will ever have any effect.

Everyone that boycotts gas on the 15th will buy it on the 16th or 17th.

Everyone will still have to get gas on the 16th, so what's the difference? You're not using any less gas, ultimately, so the oil companies don't lose any money.

If this did work, it would hurt the gas station, not the oil cartel.

That's the key. Most people don't want to actually use less gas but would rather be armchair activists.

my lemonade stand is open on the 14th, 15th, and 16th. i sell lemonade for $0.25/cup.

on average i sell about 8 cups of lemonade a day... an average of $2.00/day. for 3 days i can expect to make $6.00

i pissed everyone off by raising my prices to $0.25, from the usual $0.15, so everyone decides to boycott my lemonade stand for 1 day on the 15th. this is what my sales look like:

14th - i sell my usual 8 cups.

15th - i sell 2 cups.

16th - a bunch of people are really thirsty now so i sell 14 cups.

my 3 day average is still 8 cups/day, and i still make the same amount of money.

i just figured i'd dumb it down to the level of anyone who would believe this shit. logic people, LOGIC!

I think if I close my eyes and wish really really really really hard, it will also have an effect on the gas price.
