No CART today

Looks like the CART guys don't care for our track today. The cars have been seen loading on their transports.

At least qualifying was free...
The officials postponed the race after several drivers (24) suffered vertigo during practice and qualifying. The 24 degree banks on the 1.5 mile course generated over 6 g of total force. The g load and resulting fatigue/disorientation over the 2 HR-45 min race caused officials to consider changes to the car setup. After determining that the cars could not be slowed to safe limits on the track the event was then postponed. Speeds aproaching 240 mph were reached during practice sessions prior to qualifying.

I just got back from driving 240 miles (damn police at the track made me go 40 miles out of my way to get back to I-35 ) back from TMS after the cancellation. I have no problem with the reason for the cancellation. If the drivers aren't going to be safe out there, they shouldn't race. I just want to know what changed between last night and this morning that they couldn't make this decision earlier? CART has been worried about this track since they added it to their schedule last year so they should have done some testing to find stuff like this out before the day of the race. At the least, they should have made this call last night so people wouldn't have to go out to the track to only a bunch of cars sitting in the pits.
I'm glad I just wasted a beautiful Sunday and now I have to deal with the hassle of getting my ticket refund. I'm actually a huge CART fan. I can imagine all of the casual fans they lost today...

I dont blame you fans for attending at all for being upset. Imagine the money lost at the track for concessions, security, personnel, etc.
Was any testing done at all? Why wait until Sunday, why not cancel on Saturday afternoon.
I would like to here Bruton Smith's comments on it. I'm sure those guys will be looking for some sort of compensation.

I do not think the real issue here is a motorsports discussion. This is a management failure where CART was fully aware of the issues in advance and waited for a crisis that was a huge negative for the fans, track, and vendors.
This is another good example of how the CART organization is destroying it
