Is this the next "must have" car?

How about a two seater from VW ??? Yes, a VW roadster with a V10. There is also speculation about the next generation of the Nissan Skyline finally making it to the US. I saw the new Z-car at the Detroit auto show last winter. There are number of things which reminded me of my old 240-Z, right down to the 3 gauges on the dash. The Z should be a tuners dream.

For me, it's hands down the RX-8. I am drooling at the prospect of owning that badboy. I missed out on the last generation RX-7 and will definitely not miss out again in owning a rotary powered sports car.
But first, comes the S2000 . . .

From your list.....
S2000 wins - (but only because it is convertible)
350 Z is second (absolutely beautiful car - saw it at the Tokyo Motorshow last week)
RX-8 third, but I would only buy it if I needed four seats.
If they come out with a 350 Z convertible I would be seriously tempted....

RX-8
I'm hoping that the RX-8 will live up to it's marketing as a 4-door sports car. I'm currently in need of a fun 4-door and this looks like it may fit the bill (at least I hope so).
If the the performance is there, it will probably be a replacement for the S2000 (no room for a kid seat).

I seriously hope you put the Pontiac Vibe in as a joke only. Thats like saying the new VW truck/suv is going to be a "must have". I may be proven wrong, but I just don't see the Vibe gernerating the kind of hype the s2000 and other cars have. I also don't see people paying over thousands over MSRP without a test drive and then waiting months for thier cars to arrive. What I do see is dealer lots full of Vibes with plenty of dealer incentives to buy them. They may become popular but not a must have.
Just my .02c
Oh, my vote is for the RX8. I was at the dealer getting my miata serviced and the salesman said they have had many people come in and inquire about putting money down ritght now for the car. He figures they will all be sold well above MSRP before they arrive on his lot.

Me thinks me needs to get making some $ and get a spot on the RX8 list!!!!
I would imagine that car to be equal to the S2000 in all aspects (except it hauls 4 people and cannot remove its lid). The HP is about the same and the torque is now a good bit better on the mazda (last i saw it was 177lb ft)
This is the car for me!!!! Now how the hell am i gonna afford that????
