Default New OEM wheels stolen out of UPS warehouse!

Hey guys I had a small wreck a month ago and the car has been in the shop since then and still haven't gotten it back. Long story short, the shop ordered parts which all were out of stock for about a week and half. They also ordered one new rear wheel which apparently was stolen out of the UPS receiving warehouse on Aug 12. This caused the completion to be delayed another week from today until they can get the 2nd wheel they ordered in.
This being my first accident, I found out the hard way that full coverage insurance does not mean rental is covered. So now having to pay for the rental out of my pocket, is there anything I can do since this incident has happened?
Would I be reimbursed for the extended amount of time it is taking to get the car completed?

Thanks guys in advance.

Pretty much, no. It's really not any fault of your insurance company that the repairs are delayed. If you don't have rental car coverage, then you don't have rental car coverage. If there were some unusual delay on the part of your repair shop where they screwed something up or forgot to order parts, etc, they MIGHT give you some consideration but then again, for a situation like this, it's really not in their control.

How much are you paying for the rental? Your insurance company should be able to get you a pretty good rate on an economy car.

You really should ask these questions with your insurance company, not a bunch of random peeps in a car forum.

I ended up getting a Hyundia Accent for 21.xx a day which is not bad but I've had the rental since July 24 so it's really starting to stack up now. The insurance company estimated a week for repairs but since the parts were out of stock its delayed.

The wheel was stolen out of the UPS warehouse when it arrived here in Houston. We have a crisis with S2000's getting stolen recently. Given that I wouldn't be surprised if the wheels came up missing again from the same warehouse if they will be shipped in the same manner.

Hmmm. Again, talk to your insurance company.

If the accident wasn't your fault you have choices.

I took it to a shop of my choice but they couldn't find in stock parts. Thats why it got delayed in the first place.

Call a bureau of insurance or what ever you have in your state. They shouldn't stiff you like that. I say keep calling someone until you get the answer you want. I was stiffed in the past by insurance. Never again. You pay them every month on time. Make them earn that money.
