The plant that has produced the S2000 was the NSX plant. The S2000 is a limited 20,000/year car. The S2000 is a steel chassis car. A lot has been learned by Japan in producing a limited, steel chassis car for a reasonable price.
The new NSX will be a steel unibody, rear engined, 400HP, V8 supercar to compete with the Viper and the Corvette and will sell for $55-60,000!
And they will sell more than they can produce! At a profit! If they sell 10,000 per year at that price, that's better than 2000 per year at $125,000 --- which probably what it would be. How about 20,000 @ $55,000???
Who would order one???

If it is *only* $55k, i think i would have to figure out how to sell my junk and get one! It seems unlikely, but I like your logic
make 12k per car @ 10,000 = $120M
make 25k per car @ 2,000 = $50M
plus they can say they sold 8,000 more cars than the prev. year.

I've heard two theories. I've also heard that they are going to want to leave the vette and viper in the dust and go straight after the Ferrari F360. Meaning it may cost more. I'm hoping for the 55k NSX though. I would definately get one, but not for another couple years.
Have you guys seen the pics of the new NSX with the S2000 front end. The dealer was trying to say that's what they're going to look like, but that makes no sense. Isn't it "trickle down", not "trickle up"?
