I remember the opening night of the original fast and furious, and the anarchy in the parking lot that ensued when everyone was leaving.

You're wrong. 1/3 of the people currently here were 10 years old in 2001 and a good number of us were first wave, original owners over the age of 30....

Just when this street racing stuff was kind of dying down, the cops are gonna be on our asses again.
sigh...

I hope it doesn't affect the car world like how squids (ya know, those sport-bikers that ride around in t-shirts doing wheelies) affect the responsible sport-bikers.
To those that say "if you're not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about"...I don't think I 100% agree.
As an avid yet responsible motorcyclist I have been stopped numerous times because my bike looked like one that was causing mayhem in the area. In NYC lane splitting was the norm (although illegal, it was accepted, kind of like how speeding 5-10 mph over the limit on interstate highways are) and very safe. Then there was a slew of kids back around 2005 that lane split way too fast, caused a few accidents, tried to wheelie between cars, etc...needless to say, cops have been cracking down on lane splitting these last few years.
Then my favorite twisty roads have been swamped by young guys that think they should star in the next Biker Boyz movie with their D&D excessively loud exhausts...and crashing because they never took a performance riding class to learn how to properly drag a knee (not that you should very often on public roads anyway). Now the locals are complaining and all those nice twisties are riddled with cops.
Although it kind of sucks for the responsible enthusiasts, I don't hate anyone for it. If I was 18 and had money to burn on a flashy car/bike I would probably be doing burnouts and wheelies too. But I think it's ignorant to say that it doesn't affect the rest of the community. I say let the kids have their fun, it's just a fad, and just be extra careful and keep it on the track. And don't hate on them too much, we were all testosterone driven teens at one point in time.

tokyo drift was one of my favorite movies. i don't think the new one will be better judging from the preview. They are doing that jump-out-of-cars-onto-18-wheelers thing again
