Most addictive games
This is for the gamers out there. We have all spent many hours playing games, but which one was most addictive for you? As far as PC gaming goes and the most hours played I would have to toss it up between Quake, Starcraft, Everquest, and Artifact (a game that I beta tested back in the day). I played each one of these every day for at least a year each.
Quake got to me because it was so revolutionary. It reinvented the 1st person shooter and without the development of this game others would not be what they are today. Some say wolfenstein was the creater of the fps, but it wasn't totally 3d, so it doesn't count .
Starcraft just hooked me further into online gaming. A well thought out strategy game with no real advantages to any one type of strategy. I could try different things and still win as long as I didn't screw up. What a fun game.
Everquest got me because it was the first MMORPG that I had ever played. The graphics were excellent, and the world was beautifully laid out at first. After the game got so large that there were 2500+ people in a game though it just became too much work to play, and that was what made me stop.
Artifact REALLY had me hooked. It had me so hooked that I would skip school to play it. Being a beta tester for this game was absolutely great, but sometimes I didn't do what I was supposed to do.
I was thinking about starting a website for parents to go to and see about the most addictive games for their children. As corny as it may sound, some kids will actually skip school/work to play a game. The responsibility lies in the parents to watch what their kids play and how often, but they could use a little help as most parents know nothing of gaming.

Damn, you need to go out more. Next time you think about playing a game, get in your car and drive to Bone Daddy's. That should cure it. Sort of... That is until you turn 21.
I haven't been addicted to a game since Defender on Atari and Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo.

not really addicted to any game. . . GT & GT2 sucked up tons of hours, almost enough to qualify as addictive. . .but not quite.
GT3 is fun, but I can go days/weeks without turning on the PS2. . .
The last really addictive games for me were:
Defender (TI 99/4A)
Muchman (TI's Pac Man knock off. . . different monsters for every screen )
Burgertime. . . I'll never look at eggs, pickles and hot dogs the same again . . . Though, it may be the reason why I love pepper. . .
IMO, the most addictive are the head to head games. . . Mortal Kombat 3 or 4 and NBA Jam can still keep me and the guys hooked for 6 late night hours straight. . .

Sorry to go Off PC topic, but the most addicting game I've ever been involved in was when I was 14-17 years old. It was called Strat-O-Matic Baseball. It was so addictive that we used to drive(had an older friend drive) to Upstate NY(I lived in Brooklyn) to get the new cards once they were released from the factory.
Now ofcourse the only two addictive games I play is VTEC(at play) and www.s2ki.com(at work)

Anyway, most addictive game for me ... had to be the original Civilization.

I'm not a huge gamer anymore, but there were two addictive games for me. One was a Nintendo game, Baseball Stars, and the second was Final Fantasy (the original). I played both those games for hours. Baseball Stars is easily the best baseball game I have ever played. It still probably is to me. The graphics and everything obviously don't compare, but I have never had so much fun playing a baseball game.

I like games but I don't think I'm addicted. I play Starcraft at work when I'm bored.
I play GT3 at home when I have the time.
The only game I play everday is the one where I try to drive to and from work as fast as I can and not get at ticket. So far I'm winning it's been 18 months or so since my last ticket.
