I had been told to reschedule as well, but was told that they now require a solid reason with proof of unavailability by way of affadavit or something like that in Ontario.
Soon as I got a court date in the mail I booked a flight across the country to work from my other office for a week. Never ended up having to prove it though because on the reschedule I actually had to be back at our other office, and had an agent represent me and plead the case that I had asked him to.

Don't be a jackass and you should be able to get it lowered to 25mph over and it won't be wreckless driving. That way you can still take DD or whatever and end up ok. You'll still end up paying $$ for it though. I've had to do that before. I was going 38 over in a 45 mph zone when I was a teenager. I wore a suit, said yes sir, and was the most respectful kid in the court house. He lowered it to 25 over and it wasn't even a big deal at that point.
Honestly just stay within 25mph of the speed limit from now on. That's not too much to ask for, I can even do that on my sport bikes most of the time, surely you can do it in your car. That's a solid 90mph in a 65mph zone and a solid 80mph if you are going through the country in a 55mph zone.
