Yes, they were.

yet the post that you responded to is not stupid - it is instinctive
So was mine.

There's a lot of ignorant bashing going on in here. First of all, as mentioned by someone above, Travolta is known for being a giving person. Second, that is NOT his runway. It belongs to the community and is shared by many residents (a bunch of selfish bastards also, I guess...). Lastly, he gave up the pretentuous Hollywood lifestyle for a boxy house in an unglamorous town so he could do what he loves most. Sounds like a cool guy to me. Funny how people like to judge and jump to conclusions from a few pics.

He owns a four engine jet? What in the world does a private party need with a four engine jet?

there is no way that anyone needs that to be happy
his self-overindulgence disgusts me to no end; and no, I do not support movies stars if i can help it...
And someone living in a slum in Calcutta can say exactly the same thing about you.

Anyone who goes out and honestly earns their money has every right to spend it as they see fit.

[QUOTE=savestheday]are you seriously implying on trying to get rid of an upperclass altogether? Sounds kind of, I dunno, COMMUNIST to me. Seriously. what happens in terms of class shift if we were to implement this social model? If you do not believe in making celebritites, don't watch movies that give these people work and don't buy their music (which, given the P2P and torrents of today is technically true). The only way these people got there is by the unimaginative supporting them. Not a flame, but you get the idea.

Dammit, I'm busted

I'm spending too much time in online forums. All the rudeness and bad grammar is starting to rub off on me.

It's ok man, I think the internet has made all of us pretty dumb at times. I seem to lose brain cells everyday because of it.

Travolta's passion is flying. He (and his wife Kelly Preston) is as generous and dedicated to charity causes as any celebs that I know.

Many people think spending $30K on a 2-seater is wasteful. It is all a matter of perspective...

I'm seeing him as thrifty right now. I mean, if I was going to have a few planes, I would atleast have a hanger large enough to keep them in not a carport that was a few stories high
