Internet dating horror stories

When I was in the eighth grade (40 years ago, before the internet, PCs and caller ID), I met a young lady through a random phone call. She sounded sweet, and we agreed to meet shortly after that. This was during Summer vacation (June, I think). Well, we did meet, and she was really, really heavy; cute, but heavy. I didn't walk, but ran away as fast as I could.
Come September, back to school. The first day I see a girl who resembles my Summer phone-meet girl; however, this girl is no fatty, this girl is a fox! It turns out that she had just started a diet when I met her, and dropped about 50 pounds over the summer.
I turned out to be the ugly duckling in this tale; she threw me over for the captain of the football team!

I meet equal number of psycho b!tches in real life and on the net. However, my current gf and I met on the net and have been together for almost 6 months and lovin' it. Comes to autocrosses and track events w/ me, has good reason to be but is not afraid of my driving and is just a great looking and behaving person even if she's a little shy, but that's why it was nice to meet on the net first. In fact, she's a regular here too. Love ya babe!
Like you said lvs2k, when u don't have a person's looks getting in the way you will meet some very interesting people that you would never otherwise spend half a thought on.

I never really tried internet dating. That's the advantage of living in one place your whole life and having a lot of friends. I did have a friend of mine that tried it though. He had just moved to LA so he didn't really know a lot of people. I think he met a few nice girls, but nothing ever came of it. The funny thing though is he used to meet the girls in Santa Monica at 3rd Street Promenade in front of the dinosaur scultpures. He told me that a lot of on-line dating people met there for the first time. He would have women coming up to him asking him if he were someone else. Maybe he just looked like a typical on-line dater or something
