Woke up about 9:00 am on a Friday morning, went back to sleep at about 5:00 am on Sunday morning.

Gotta love HS graduation parties.

Longest was somewhere in the 30-32 range. I can't even remember. I lost track of time a couple times during that period of insomnia.

And yet you still call yourself "lucid"?

I spent 3 weeks assisting an interior photographer shoot the Diamond Hotel in Manila for the Japanese owners. No single work day lasted less than 24 hours, and several lasted over 36! (We'd start setting up the first shot in the late afternoon, complete the setup and begin shooting the images around 3:00 am, fix the room back the way it was by 10:00 am, then move on to the next shot...) This guy was one of the best interior photographers in the world and did not believe in shooting a room the way it was. We made every room we photographed into the best hotel room (or restaurant, or lobby, or ball room, or whatever) into the best in the world. Then we tore it all up and moved on. We'd even paint the furniture if we didn't like the way it looked.

Those are still the most educational and grueling 3 weeks I ever spent. Probably went a long way to burning me out on professional photography as an occupation, though.

It was especially interesting trying to photograph a reception hall while a 150 mph typhoon was tearing up the world outside the windows, but that's another story.

Just before I quit my last job I was working 36 hour shifts and commuting 45 minutes each way. The drill went something like: get to work at 4 AM at the main office and work until til 6 PM, then drive 100 miles to a branch office and work until 5:30 AM, drive back to the main office and work until 4 PM. I would then go home and fight with my girlfriend about never being home, go to bed and do it all over again the next morning.
