Thats awesome! I'm guessing your wife was out of town or out shopping during that one... Either that, or you have the coolest wife ever. If I did something like that in my house, I would be sleeping on the couch for months

Google "Saiga 12 922r." Pretty much, In a nutshell, certain things are illegal and restricted in foreign-made shotguns and rifles. One of them being that, foreign-made magazine fed shotguns are not allowed to be assembled with a detachable magazine that holds more than 5 rounds. If the gun has 10 or less foreign-made parts (out of a specific part list), then it is no longer considered foreign-made.
Since the only thing that your friend has done is add the aftermarket magazine (which holds more than 5-rounds) and the optic, the gun is illegal as assembled in that picture, and breaks the Federal 922r laws. (since it still has more than 10 foreign-made parts).
There are A TON of different restrictions/things that make foreign-made shotguns illegal, before you (or your friend) starts making modifications to guns such as Saiga-12s and AKs, you need to learn the laws surrounding them (922r), so you don't find yourself with an illegally-modified firearm, and in deep water with the ATF.

there could be other parts he changed, and i think the mag is pre-ban? or something? i'm not sure i know nothing about them other than how to shoot them lol i know he goes through this with all of his guns(the AR-15 he built part by part) and has to keep them legal with the american/foriegn parts. i do know he buys all pre-ban mags for whatever legality reasons
