How do you like the Walther PPS? I found mine to be utter crap but some people really love them. What is the photoed silenced H&K you have?

I have a couple suppressed HK pistols but I assume your talking about the HKUSP45T and Silencerco Osprey45 silencer.

Here is a HD video review on them. I shoot a mag out of each at the end.

And I love the PPS. My wife uses it as aher primary carry gun. I've never had an issue with it. She uses 147grn Federal HST's.

Because the camera microphone is auto leveling everything it pics up. From ambient noise, to the gun firing, to the echo from the bullet slamming into the target then the video/audio looses quality when its compressed and uploaded on youtube. Every suppressed firearm I shot has sounded better in person.

Not all suppressed guns are hollywood quiet, in fact up until 2 years ago they really weren't close but with more companies emerging there is more competition and silencers have made engineering breakthroughs recently and sound MUCH better. I can shoot all of my pistols in my backyard and not piss off the neighbors. (it helps its legal in my county

Might want to tell your friend to look into 922r. It looks like his Saiga-12 setup is illegal. Chances are he would never get busted for it, but when dealing with the ATF and FBI (and violating federal firearms laws), I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Very nice AR skkppy.

Spawn, AR10

Op, does your state ask the purpose of you getting a class II for a suppressor? I've always wondered what an acceptable reason was for having one.
What do you mean "getting a class II for a suppressor"? There is no "permit" or "license" that you need in order to purchase an NFA weapon/suppressor.

Also, you do not even notify the state when you purchase an NFA weapon/suppressor. You get a signature from your chief LEO (sheriff/police chief), and then send the paperwork and money out to the ATF. Nothing is done on the state level.

Being on the state level is what the standard answer about suppressors equates to in AL. Guess misinformation, or I should have reworded the question. How would you convince a chief that you should have a suppressor? I seriously doubt you could just ask him to sign off on it without him knowing why you desire it.

This pistol. Is it more than the standard USP compact? It has a different grip pattern than my 2010 .40 compact. and the acc. rail is different. Just a newer version? I've seen people shooting those Osprey suppressors and they are pretty awesome.

You might want to ask around at the local gun shops to see how your CLEO (chief law enforcement officer) responds to suppressor and other NFA weapon requests. Usually, a CLEO will sign off if you have a clean record with little to no questions asked. (It all depends though, some CLEOs are a pain in the butt).

If he does ask you, just say something like you want to reduce noise pollution, or you want to be able to go shooting without alarming or concerning the people that live around there. There are some places in the UK that will only let you shoot firearms that ARE suppressed, so it seems like a good reason to me.

If one of the CLEOs (chief of police or sheriff) is known to not sign off on requests, than go to the other (you can get the signature from either the chief of police or the sheriff, it doesn't matter. If neither of them are willing to sign off, you can get an NFA trust which does not require a CLEO sign off.

If you are going to get multiple NFA weapons, I would recommend going the NFA trust route anyways. That way, it will be legal for anyone listed in your trust to possess your NFA firearms, and if/when you die, the firearms can remain in the trust instead of making whoever takes possession of the firearm after you, have to do the paperwork all over again for them and pay the $200 tax per item.

THIS!

I went with a NFA firearms trust drawn up by a local lawyer. No CLEO signoff needed!

I'll do a muzzle flash night demo if this gets enough interest. Read the description under the video on youtube.

Thats awesome! I'm guessing your wife was out of town or out shopping during that one... Either that, or you have the coolest wife ever. If I did something like that in my house, I would be sleeping on the couch for months
