I never said I was buying her one tomorrow. I'm no expert on guns what so ever, especially in what a lady would need for personal protection. Even if she had a gun for protection I wouldn't let her carry it until she had her Conceal and Carry License....and she was comfortable with the gun and confident in herself.

And we do have a firing range pretty close (indoor) that allows renting, so we will probably give that a try sometime.

.38 Spl is enough (esp. +P), unless people have gotten tougher than old lawmen had to face. But even I will poo-poo .380 Auto.

All this talk of guns got me excited, just got back from buying a Remington 870 Express (12 gauge compact). Be'll using it primarily as home defense.

1 old winchester .22 rifle with iron sights
1 remington .270 rifle
1 remington 12gauge
1 winchester 12gauge

Seems like you guys are more into the tactical guns.
