Homer Simpson :

"When I held that gun in my hand, I felt a surge of power ... like God must feel when he's holding a gun".

We have the use to what is commonly called a "South African Street Sweeper"

50 magazine, it is a impressive piece.

Pump shotguns only need frequent cleaning when they are used frequently, just like all guns. You have a better chance of jamming it with improper ammo (like most guns). If you never shoot a gun, you would be better off with a salad fork for home defense, as a gun you can't aim is not worth much more than a toy gun.

If you really think you are going to shoot it out with someone in your living room at 3 in the morning, you are living in a fantasy world. The gun you choose for "home defense" is nothing more than a security blanket - it provides as much protection :/ I'd rather rely on a lock on the door than a gun in the closet or drawer.
Buy an alarm system. It'll wake your ass up, the criminal would know you're awake, then chambering the shotgun priceless. He keeps coming, he's dead.

No Really nailed it. I have never, not ever, had a jam with my plain-jane Remington 870 pump. If you skeet shoot you learn to follow-up pump pretty quickly, after just a couple of "damn's" when you try to pull the trigger on bird #2.

I think he missed one earlier "pop quiz" item. You hear the sound of one shotgun shell being racked into the chamber. Do you tear-@ss out the house immediately? Movies exaggerate a little but it really is an unmistakeable sound in the dead of the night.

If you need a semi-auto they've been around for years. Nothing so new here except maybe the recoil-reduction system. Just remember to keep it even cleaner than you have to for a pump-action!

Pump action shotguns are much better, but must be cleaned and greased often, and still, if someone with a gun (9mm or whatever) breaks in, if you miss 1 shot, he can get 3 off before you shoot the next one.
Mmmm. No. I have a Mossberg Mariner pump action 12 gauge as a home defense piece... among other things... and it's never been 'greased' and works beautifully every single time. I can easily get off 8 shots in less than 5 seconds, although that would be sort of unnecessary.

The guy breaking into my house with 9mm... or .45... or whatever... is toast if he gets in front of my shotgun. That's the whole point: You don't miss. You can pop two shots easily covering a hallway, open room, etc. before Mr. Home Intruder even gets his sights on you. And you won't have to worry about slugs going into your kids room.

A full-length shotgun like that would definitely not be my top choice for home defense. A weapon like that has to be lowered to move through doorways, leaving you vulnerable. Its intimidating as hell and packs a helluva lot of punch, but is too big for confined spaces. Stick to a combat shotgun like the Benelli M4 or a good .45 if you really expect to have a shootout in your house

That being said, that is one bad-ass shotgun.
