In regard to the Browning High Power 9mm, my grandfather shot the officer that was carrying it in WWII. It is definetely something I will hang onto for the rest of my life. I only shoot it once or twice every few years.


And yes, the Glock will be my issued gun once I am sworn in by the Sheriff's department.

The Browning is a collectible, I don't see anything wrong with it. on the 40 cal Glock. We were issued Glock 17's and I wished we had more firepower.

 

BTW that same Colonel told me the Army is going back to the .45 mm and getting rid of the 9...that should make some Soldiers very happy

 

I picked up my dream handgun when I turned 21, Beretta 96FS Brigadier Inox. I got a few in the box now and growing:

Beretta 96FS Brigadier Inox (wrap around grip). - .40
S&W sigma - .40
magtec .22 - eveyman's gotta have a .22.
and a small .22LR 5 shot. About the size of three quarters. fits in my change pocket in jeans.

next: probably a 7mm mag with scope or an SKS (ooh I'm good with those).

 

Just be careful with that .40 Glock. There have been LOTS of reports of misfire explosions with those.

The most likely explaination is that the unsupported breach + reloaded brass makes for a BAD recipe.

The power contained in a .40 is about the max of any caliber currently in use. Reloading it is a BAD idea. Weakend brass will not hold up to the pressures.
