Default got a ticket

so he got me on radar doing 82 in a 55 while I was changing lanes on a left curve. the speed limit wasn't one of those "max speed" signs. Is there anything I can do to fight the ticket. I mean how would you argue if you got caught with your pants down. I was definitely going fast, but I don't thing I was doing 82.

I'm not even sure how much this is gonna cost me or whether they'll allow traffic school for this.

is there anything I can/should do?

27 over makes you unable to qualify for driving school. The limit is 25 over, that being said, you can try your luck at going to court. If the cop is a no show then you win. Otherwise you can also go to court and if the cop shows you can ask for reduced fine and driving school. You can also try written decleration using the ticketassassin method.

Drop your pants and grab your ankles....

Seriously though, you should talk to the prosecutor and see if they'll give you a slap on the wrist fine with no points.

Hell, depends upon what is on your record, how old you are, driving history with the insurance company, amount of the fine, etc.

Personally, I just was given an "award" by the local law for 83 in a 65 on the expressway. The fine including court costs (my own county and state) is $90.00. I'll just pay it. I have no previous speed violations in the past whatever (far beyond what the state or insurance keeps track of). I have one out of state "improper lane change" from a year and a half ago (bastard cited me for returning to my side just after the dotted line ended). I don't expect any insurance consequences.

On the recent speed "award", the cop asked me "do you know how fast you were going?"

"Not exactly officer," I replied "and I'm hoping you don't either."

Cop laughs and says "Unfortunately for you, I do."

Oh well, nice of him not to mention my lack of a front plate. He did say "Nice car, sir."

that must depend on which state you're in...because a few months ago i got a 68 in a 40. i'm allowed to do the traffic school thing, online no less...the ticket itself just cost me $20 more.
He does live in California. Hence my response. Yes, it may not be true in other states.

damnit! so no traffic school means like two points for speeding that much right? I think I still have 1 point on my record now. I might be better of getting that traffic fine lawyer for like 2 G's.
