Front license plate or no?????
#11
Mine is off, although most of the others in Austin seem to have theirs on. I was stopped once by a trooper on the way to Dallas in 1993 for no front plate in my new SC400. He said that he had a Corvette and if he had to have a front plate, then I did too. Gave me a warning. I think the front plate thing is a very low priority item for the Austin police.

Hey - John - good to hear that police in this area don't seem to care too much - I have no plans to install the front plate once I get the plates in the mail. (I haven't noticed any extra attention from cop cars while I've been driving with my temp tags, though).
I spoke to a cop friend (Cleveland) - he told me that I should be pretty safe, unless a cop sees me in a neighborhood where they don't think I should be, then they may use it as an excuse to pull me over. I don;t have any plans to be in those neighborhoods with my car, so I should be OK.
The fact that Ohio Highway Patrol uses larer a lot worries me a little, though. They may be upset if they don't have a good target.
