Didn't get up in time to watch so I'll see the replay tonight.Button and Sato in the points OUTSTANDING

 

I tried to stay up and watch the race live like I normally do but 4 hours of sleep friday night and 3 hours saturday night left me useless sunday morning to get up..... I read all about it on the f1 site, looked like it was a great race, and Honda is coming back baby!!

Sato's tangle w/ lil' Schumi was, IMO, Ralphy's fault. Ralph overcooked that corner going in from the inside a la Prost/Senna style (can you say '88 final championship race @ Suzuka?) and left nowhere for Sato to go but to nudge the FW26's rear left tire and sent Ralph spinning into the runoff. I find it amazing that both cars suffered no damage at all (at least not in the way that affected both car's ability to keep racing)! In the old days the race marshall(s) would have to conclude right when it happens and penalize the would-be perpetrator to pit-lane drive thru. But thankfully under the new rule changes this season (possibly William's protest resulting from the tangle between Barichello and Montoya during last year's USGP) the investigation will be conducted after the race and the offender will get point(s) added to his super license instead of taking away his final position of the race. But then again, if a driver gets too many of these points his right to race will be forfeited. Hopefully, the Officials will let this one go since it's really Ralph's fault.

All in all it was a great race. We have Fukui-san (Honda's new boss since last year) to thank for the results thus far. If it weren't for his commitment to racing with the intensity of Soichiro Honda, they won't be where they are today. After 2 crappy ex-CEO's that took the helm since 1992, Mr. founder can now stop rolling in his grave.

Keep up the good work BAR Honda! Build up your momentum this year so you can take the fight to Ferrari all the way come next year!

An emphatic Ferrari won the first ever Formula One race in the Middle East, but the team was also slapped with a $10,000 fine for an incident in pitlane. Stewards reviewed video-evidence and independent explanations and ruled that Rubens Barrichello had been released from a stop when it wasn't 'safe to do so.'

A near-collision with the Renault of Jarno Trulli was averted. Rubens defended Ferrari and passed the buck to the Italian.

 

Ralphy isn't Michael, his head is getting a little too big for his Helmet.
