1. Whoever said, just pay it= wrong. In ca that's a 1200 dollar fine. Plus insurance, fees etc.
2. 100% get a traffic lawyer. They can help you lower the payment and get a negotiation for you. Don't go it alone, they know the law and can help.

3. Can I get life insurance on you and make me the beneficiary?

Check with Berkeley law school too, sometimes they have discount services for students.

This is totally the wrong forum to be asking them.
there is always one+ a$$wipe in the forum.

not alot of details, maybe i dont want to hear them, you must get a lawyer tho.
-get a few deferrals, extend the court date, maybe the cop will get run over, beat up his wife what ever and you will not have a trial.
-find a lawyer that will handle your case... has previous history of success in this type of trial.

unless you are completely aware of a settlement, get a lawyer. less you get a a$$whipe judge too. people are human.

The reason why I was speeding was because I had to take a crazy crap and I was trying to get home so I could handle my business. -_-
OK, 2 things came to mind.
were there no bathroom at all?
your urge must have increased 5-fold when you saw the popo. I don't see how you didn't do number 2 in your pants.

You should have bought a radar/laser detector if you wanted to speed.
I've never gotten radared on the freeway in California. CHP uses pacing there, at least during the times I've been caught.

I was actually going around 96 when the cop flashed his lights. I was going a lot faster before and I just decided to slow down. That's when I noticed a pair of headlights pulling on me from behind and I assumed it was a cop and a few seconds later he flashed his lights.
Waiting for the ticket in the car was killer.

thanks for the advice. I'm going to check out the law school after classes.

Apparently the "bathroom emergency" excuse is one of the most common excuse used.
