I totally agree. It used to be the Rose Bowl and everything else. At least it isn't the Weed Whacker Rose Bowl -- yet.
By the way, everybody says the securuty for the Rose Bowl is going to be humongous. If you don,t have a ticket, get the hell out of Pasadena way, way before 5PM. Say, noon.

In light of recent events, I think Oregon should get a shot now. Nebraska blew thier chance and Colorado blew it when they lost to Fresno St. I think an Oregon upset of Miami would be a fitting end to this college football season.

To all of these schools bitching about not being in the Rose Bowl, I only have one thing to say. You had your opportunity to take it out of the pollster's hands and you didn't by losing at least one game. If Oregon or Colorado had been undefeated then this would be a different story and I could see the third school complaining if there were three undefeated schools. But the fact is Colorado lost two games and Oregon lost to Stanford. Miami is the only school that truly deserves to be in the Rose Bowl and the BCS, which the schools agreed to use, chose Nebraska as the next best.
Do you really think it was that much better before the BCS when Michigan and Nebraska didn't get to play each other for the championship a few years ago because of old conference alliances with bowls, just to name one example? I don't think the BCS is perfect by any means, but it has shown that unless you win all of your games, you may not hold your destiny in your own hands.
