Does anybody want to play in the Rose bowl?

With all of the upsets in the past few weeks, it's looking like none of the top teams in college football want to go to Pasadena. Nebraska beat by Colorado, Oklahoma upset by Oklahoma State, Florida gets beat by Tennessee, and then tonight Texas loses to Colorado. Not to mention this afternoon Miami was a dropped pass for a two-point conversion away from overtime against Virginia Tech. I guess Oregon and Tennessee are in the best position now to play Miami.
What do you guys think? I'm not a big football fan, I prefer college basketball, but it has gotten pretty interesting the past few weeks.

I agree...
The Vols beat the number 2 team in the nation when they were considered an 18 point underdog while Oregon barely got by an unranked team. Tennessee controls their fate. Win the SEC championship and they are there.
But that works out better... I personally didn't want an all Florida Championship game.

For Tennessee to come to "The Swamp" and beat the Gators, they certainly deserve to be in the Championship game if the get by LSU. I think a Miami/Tennessee matchup would be a great game.

Harriman Cronk, head of Tournament of roses athletics and recent past TOR president, put together the deal that brought the Rose Bowl into the BCS rotation is a friend of mine. We talk every morning at the gym on treadmills & lifecycles. He doesn't like the idea of team a from Florida (last week maybe 2 teams) coming out because Florida fans "don't spend any money." He bases this on marketing research. I don't necessarily share his feelings because I am ignorant about this. So flame him, not me.

I think Rose Bowl should stick with Pac10 and BIG TEN champs.
This BCS thing is totally stupid. You either have a playoff or you don't.
You don't screw a long running tradition for a total BS BCS.
Bowl game attendence and TV ratings were much higher when more than one bowl game means something.
The way it was before, usually a few bowl games would mean something. If not for national championship, at least for bragging right in a long running tradition.
If there is a playoff, every game means something.
With BCS, it either is completely meaningless or if it's lucky, it may have ONE meaningful game.
I don't know about you, but neither one of my top 2 choices are from the state of Florida.
Guess what, unless there is a playoff, you can't prove me wrong, either.

FlyingPIG.....you're saying you know more than lee corso, all the ESPN analysts, and the coach's poll which all picked miami as an undisputed #1 team in the nation? Do you even realize that 3 members of miami's offensive line are going to be NFL pro bowlers, and this is far and away the best offensive line assembled in college in the last decade. Do you even realize that the o-lines and d-lines are the most important factor of a college football team? Ken Dorsey has been sacked 3 times this year (as of before the vtech game), most QBs get sacked at least that many times in one game.... Miami's defense has scored an average of over a touchdown in each of its last 26 games....did any other teams do that? The fact is if miami's offense isn't clicking you can pretty much count on a touchdown from the defense to get things started, and at the very least a couple turnovers. Does any other team have this going? Miami was even better last year than they were this year, but the BCS screwed them over and sure we all complained, but now they're getting their chance. Even after losing an unbelievable head coach, 3 offensive starters that all went on to start in the NFL as rookies(unfortunate injuries, but nonetheless they were going to start), and even after suffering such losses they're still the best team in the country. Pretty uncanny if ya ask me. Miami all the way '01 - '02 nat'l champs...hell yea i'll be in pasadena.
