do you follow a diet of any sort?
as I am now almost 39 ****ing years old I should probably watch what I eat a little better.
I basically eat whatever i want and just plan to workout daily for an hour or so at lunch or run in the evenings. I am thinking I would be somewhat healthier if I didn't eat at Taco Bell for lunch and / or drink so many soda's, etc......
Just curious if anyone sets up a week at a time kind of meals?
where would I find a sample weekly diet plan that would be reasonable and not taste like chalk?

Typing this as I had Taco Bell for lunch along with a Pepsi.
It's hard to believe that when I first bought my S2000, back in 2000, I was wearing a size 44! I'm at a 36 waist now and really need to lose another 40 to 50 lbs.
I'm not on a diet...or don't consider myself to be on one but I am a lot more aware of WHAT I eat. I avoid fried foods, typically drink water or unsweet teas...I gave up on the Diet Sodas because I think they were a DIRECT link to my muscle spasms and pain issues for over a year and a half...where I was once on 4 different meds...life was HELL!!
I always want to run...and I've done it a few times, but it's difficult to find the motivation and I usually have "other" things to tend to...but a nice run jamming to my iPod is pretty cool.
Now...back to the part on where I went from a 44 waist down to a 36... I started eating Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones...frozen varities that surprisingly don't taste too bad. It was during a time where I managed retail and knew I'd be short staffed and would not be able to do lunch out...so I stocked up on frozen foods.
I think the Smart Ones and Lean Cuisines "taught" me how to eat better and control my portions.

top eating fast food, stop drinking soda, stop eating sugar from anything other than fruits, etc. Try to limit sugar intake from things such as pasta sauce. Stop eating enriched white flour and white rice.. so no white bread, pasta, etc. You know what is unhealthy, so stop eating it. It's quite simple.
Any man who thinks an omelette for breakfast w/ whole wheat toast, grilled chicken or turkey sandwich for lunch, and a fat steak w/ a baked potato for dinner tastes like chalk should move to Somalia and eat nothing but rice and poison ivy, because he's a douche bag.
breakfast -- eggs, oats, whole wheat cereal, ww toast, ham, chicken, steak, peanut butter, cottage cheese.
lunch -- a sandwich on whole wheat, or last nights dinner.. whole wheat pasta w/ chicken, steak stir fry, whatever..
dinner -- meat or fish, vegetables, ww pasta, brown rice, etc
Your goal should be to eat a source of protein at every meal, and a balance of carbs and fats.. one or the other, or a bit of both, at every meal. Good fats come from eggs, dairy products, nuts, natural peanut butter, olive oil, fish oil. Not from taco bell.

right now I'm on a strict diet due to the fact that I have a month to max myself out before I head to Miami (got to look good for the ladies). But besides this month I just watch what I eat and my weight stays steady.
This month:
Breakfast: one bowl of whole gran/bran low sugar cereal
10:30am snack: fat free yogurt
lunch: tuna sandwich on whole wheat (light on the mayo) or a grilled chicken salad
3pm snack: depends on my workout for the afternoon. A cardio day I'll have fruit or raw veggies and on a lifting day I'll have raw almonds/walnuts or a protein bar
Dinner: Either grilled chicken or fish and a side of veggies or I'll just drink a protein shake and call it a night.
forgot to add: as far as drinks go either water or unsweeted iced tea
so for a month I'm going to try to live without:
-Fast food
-Eating out at restaurants
-Soda
-Sugar/salty snacks
-Booze
-Red Meat/Pork

I am on the "Eat what I want" diet.
I am 38 an have a little chubble appearing right now. But my busy season at work that includes late nights at work eating fast food end in a couple weeks.
Then I go into workout and run mode during the summer and the chubble disappears.
My waist even when bloated is 29-30 inch.

I stay away from soda completely. I try and eat lots of protein and not eat junk food. I also try and work out for at least 30 minutes a day whether it's using my Weider 200 Power Station or jogging/walking the dog (can't lift heavy weights still, since the accident).
Basically, if I can get my heart rate up to 120 bpm for 30 minutes, I consider that plenty. During a W200 workout, I'll hit as high as 175-180 bpm so I'm pushing plenty hard. Eating a decent diet takes care of the majority of the weight and moderate exercise does the rest.

I am not on a diet, diets never seem to really work over the long haul for anyone. I look at it as a lifestyle where I try and cut out fats and foods I know are bad, but don't go crazy because I know I won't last without some of it. For me the middle ground is best, I buy healthy snacks like carrots and stuff like that but will still have ice cream once or twice a week. I seem to need something sweet every day, for me I choose a soda, in my mind at least it doesn't have cholesterol and fat, yeah the sugars put on weight, but that is why I exercise.
I used to be big into lifting, I have been changing over to the triathlon scene for a while and while I do all 3 sports, cycling is by far my favorite. I will put in a couple hundred miles a week and then run about 3-4 times a week so if I eat anywhere within moderation my weight seems to continue to drop. When I was lifting heavy, I managed to get up around 215lbs. now I am down around 185 or so and the more weight I lose the faster I get, so I will continue to do so, my goal is 175 or so, but don't want to be a stick figure so that number could change.
Advice to anyone and everyone, start cycling, the weight comes off amazingly quick with very little jarring on the body, just put in the time...
