Get a lawyer, it'll go in your favor. My aunt had a silimar incident, couldn't stop quick enough for flashing lights at the last moment. If I recalled the officer was at fault due to public panic, she got reimburse for some of the damage and insurance cover the rest. You're not srewed, its the police car thats at fault, its their job to take risk at the last moment, you were just there at the wrong time. My familys been in law inforcment for decades, so I'm sure you'll come out ok.

I already talked to my insurance this morning. I know I'm getting the money for my blazer, and USAA is going to get atleast my deductable from them, but I want to know if I can pursue any action against the law driving insanly. I mean, who just busts a Uy from the outside lane?
It really puts me in a bad spot because now I have to drive my waxed 3 times over car on the salty crappy roads of OK...

Get a rental from the insurance. The police/city will take care
of you. Talk to the police about replacement of your
vehicle. Unlike other coverup situations this they should be very helpful to you. If you want more get an attorney.

j/k... I hope it all works out in your favor. And I agree with others that suggest that their insurance should cover a rental while you replace the Blazer.

I sent a message to my insurance guy asking for a rental. He won't be in until monday... or maybe not since it's a holiday. Maybe tuesday.
But yeah, I hope I get one. I need something ASAP. I refuse to drive my S right now.
