I have an Escort SRX hardwired. Two laser shifters up front, one out back and it's totally stealth hardwired. Completely undetectable by the eye when looking under the hood or in the cabin. Its worked like a charm everytime. The most fun is watching the cop as you drive by...especially when they are looking at their radar gun and wondering why it shows an error message. Love it.

The V1 is still pretty top notch. I'm sure V1 will have something new, but I love the "Ramp up" on the V1.

The cops don't use radar anymore. They use laser almost exclusively now. Radar detectors are mostly useless now.
Enforcement tactics vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. General statements like this are pointless. The cops in Houston use a mix of radar and laser. I've run into plenty of radar use on my road trips across the US.

This is what has kept me from seriously considering a V1 and the like.

With laser, it's almost impossible to pick up them pinging people near you, and once the RD has warned you of laser, it's basically too late.
You don't have to run one or the other. I'd suggest having countermeasures for both.

Can you elaborate on the laser jammer, how hard was it to install? how effective is it?
Again, hit the radardetector.net forums. No need to reinvent the wheel. There's tons of info there.

Not local PD. State police use SOME laser. Laser equipment is FAR more expensive, and most departments can't afford ANY laser guns, while some can afford a few.

Furthermore, if you know how to read your detector, you can catch laser alerts as well. While laser is indeed instant, unless you are the ONLY car on the road, there is a good chance the cop shot someone before you, and you will catch that little blip on a V1. That blip is enough for you to slow down.

had v1, 9500ix and now i am back to v1. 9500ix's gps function is very good but couldn't live without arrows. i found v1 is more sensitive also.

i have escort laser jammer, two in front one in back hard wired and i got lasered by a cop only once since i installed this and didn't get pulled over that time. and when i do get tagged i kill my speed and shut off my laser jammer since it is highly illegal.

v1 laser goes off once in awhile. laser is like infra red signal so whenever someone is using remote control it will make my v1 go off. and for some odd reason whenever there is a infiniti driving in an opposite direction my v1 laser goes off. it's always infiniti and i have no idea why.

Infinity's have a laser based distance cruise control that's always on.. no matter if they have cruise control on or not

LED's also light up the laser on my V1.
What are they gonna do when car manufacturers switch over to a primary LED headlight setup??
Probably set off Laser signals everywhere....
