Just got back from this weekend's CART race in Miami. . .

A few thoughts:

1. Hopefully the new ownership will help save CART, because from a fan's perspective CART is still one of the best racing series available (i.e., accessibility to drivers, the paddock, complete race weekend of activities, etc.)

2. Miami is HOT!!!

3. For anyone who has never been to an open wheeled race (CART, F1, Indy), you should make it point to go to one. . . The last time I went to a CART event was at the Meadolands (in NJ, years ago). Needless to say, the current presentation, including TV Monitors, PA system, etc. is much improved.

4. Miami is REALLY HOT!!!!

5. The LeMans Series and Toyota Atlantic Series races are also a lot of fun to watch. . .

6. Watching the various races, you truly gain an appreciation for how skilled these drivers are when you see them turning laps on a tight street circuit at speeds near 100 mph. . .

7. Did I mention that Miami is REALLY REALLY Hot

WARNING - HIGH BANDWIDTH

Yes Miami is hot but I rather be in the heat than freezing my ass off in the cold.

Great Pics. . .

And I agree with your freezing cold comment. . . Getting back to NY/NJ the temp has only been in the 60's/70's. Needlless to say, that is a HUGE difference!!!

Went to the inaugural last year, stayed in a hotel next to the pits on Biscayne. Thank christ for the air-con, Miami is a bit too hot and sticky. Great place, although you could only really see a small part of the track and it was well hot in the grandstands.
I prefer the ALMS to CART, see them race on a decent (apologies to Miami) road course.

It looked like a great race on TV. We go to the Long Beach GP and the finale at California Speedway in Fontana every year. We've been to all three days of every race for both. I wouldn't miss it.
