I don't have any kids, I'm an entrepreneur/investor so i won't really be working for anyone so the job is no biggie, im a night-time person, like a really lively atmosphere and a city that doesn't shut down at midnight (at least on the weekends), big modern buildings, big shopping all that. I hate the really "old-west" type small-towns, id get depressed and die lol.

I personally don't care about beaches so that's not an issue in my mind. I can't stand NY and a lot of the people that live there. The whole Capital of the world thing annoys me to no end.
Of all the US cities I've been to or lived in I enjoyed San Francisco and New Orleans the most.

I have worked at one time or another in just about every major city in the U.S. --- generally for at least a few months.
Dallas is a shithole, out shitted only by Houston. Together they are the sister turds of the south that drag the entire state of Texas into shittydom.
I spent some time in Dallas last spring and added it to my will never do business here again if it requires I stay overnight list. Before that point, only Utah was on the list. ing mormons.
Denver is not really all that much better, but there is more to do.
L.A. is full of posuers and sad s who spend every cent on their car and whatever is left over on some rathole apartment or house.
Atlanta (where I am spending most weeks currently, yay) is full of old southern men, most of whom should be shot for laziness, inbreeding and shady business practices. Boring city.
Ever think about Seattle or Chicago?

WOw one whole beach!!!! Sorry buddy but NY is not known for it's "beachs". You mean beach. There is only one on that list. I'm not trying to put NY down but it's true. . In that category there is no comparison when it comes to beaches.( cough cough) Florida. For get about it.
I wasn't trying to start a flame war, just defending the incorrect assessment of NY's recreational shore.
Outside of the original poster's choices, I think Wilmington, NC is a pretty nice town (not really a city). I've only spent a weekend there, but it was really, really nice. I wouldn't mind living there after the age of 55.

People who are from Cincinnati always seem to go on about how great Cincy is. I liked it ok, but never saw what was so great. But perhaps someone from the Nati can tell you.
Food is terrible (I've yet to find a good restaurant there), and there isn't much racial diversity. Nightlife is about average for a small city. We've hit a few bars, but nothing I'd be impressed by. All in all, great for raising a family. . . but I'd never move there.
Everyone works for Proctor and Gamble, the May Company, or Kroger. Nobody lives downtown.
Just my 2 cents, based on observations over the past 8 months. . . someone from Cincy may want to give a better view of the city.

Sounds like you are fairly young and are looking for certain things. If you are just looking for a place to lacate but not sure what the next stage of your life might bring I would make this recommendation.........Buy a place, house or condo, in a good area that you know will appreciate and you can sell easily when the time comes. Ten years from now, you might not give a rats about night life and beaches and want to move again, helps to plan ahead just in case the next stage of your life takes you somewhere else.
I see some advocating for Hawaii and I will give you my take on it. My GF is from Honolulu. I LOOOOOOOOVE Hawaii but from my experiences and there and her input, I have a different perspective on life there.
It is a difficult place to find a good PROFESSIONAL type of job. Lots is tourist related so you can find jobs in hotels and resaraunts but don't expect to get rich. Housing is scarce and costs a fortune. And in my experience, night life absolutely sucks. Lots of her friends (who are fairly nice and attractive people) are single and say it is so hard to meet people. There are a couple entertainment districts down by the big mall for locals but most everything else is for tourists. It is also somewhat segregated in that there is this uncomfortable split between asians and caucasions refered to as "Howlies" (I think spelled Haole). It is not as openly friendly if you are a whitey like me but my Japanese GF only likes whiteys for some reason. Weather is great, traffic is some of the worst in the country, and it is a drive but I much prefer Waimea Beach park over Hanauma ANY day.
Since I plan to win the powerball this week, I would love to winter there and summer somewhere like Montana where is is beautiful, clean, outdoorsie and not too many freakin people. Hawaii is great for retirement when you don't have to fight traffic every day and find a job that pays. As a young person, housing is too expensive at the point when you can least afford it, and jobs suck unless you get into the union and work at the docks.
I love Vegas for a visit (headed there next weekend woot!) but would not want to live there. LA? Not my cup of tea, lots of beautiful people, but millions and millions of pain in the ass not so beautiful people too.
You might want to look at Pheonix/Tempe area as well. Nice weather, good job market, lots of nightlife and young girls with all the colleges and underated in my opinion.
