Default Bad Blood between a punk and a cop...

ABC News

Supposedly, the punk and the cop knew each other for a while...only this time, the punk was ready with a gun.

While I do not condone various actions taken by parties involved. Any loss of life is tragic. I have to ask the question:

Would the ex-marine have been aquitted had the victim of the driver not been a police officer and had just dropped a non state-issued firearm?

I don't mean to come off as calous, offensive or derogatory in my inquiry, and I appologize in advance if I have.

Of course not, but he did the right thing.

I do feel that the punk deserved it too. But I wonder why the cop maced him like that? We don't know what happened prior to the beginning of the posted video, which *might* have justified the macing. On top of that, he casually turned his back on the punk...I mean, it's almost as if the cop "trusted" the punk enough to expose his back like that .
