Hey, I just wanted to know if anyone else has a burning desire to experience the NSX? I will be purchasing one within the next year, but I don't know if it will be a new one or used. Don't get me wrong, I love the S2000 and I will be keeping it forever especially since it is the first production year, there just seems to be something special about the NSX.
Any thoughts or comments?

I've lusted for one since they first came out. I never drove one because I was afraid such a mistress would be a marriage killer like my 928 nearly was. By the way, Toyota may be coming out with an NSX rival. Check out this thread:

I love the NSX. I was lucky enough to take a long test drive in one a few years back (I made the dealer selling me my Legend Coupe LS 6spd throw in an extended test drive in the owners NSX as part of the deal).
The car is amazing. It was a technological and engineering tour de force when it was introduced nearly 10 years ago (hard to believe its been that long) and it still stands strong today as a true usable exotic.
Having said that, I can't wait to see the mild once over that is supposed to be out next year and then the complete re-do.
Buy one and you won't be disappointed. Just be prepared to pay through the nose of insurance (all aluminum body is way expensive to repair therefore insure) and tires.
ps - if you're going to buy one, buy the later 3.2l model with a 6spd and targa roof. Better yet, buy a spa yellow. they're the best. IMO.

Some of us here (and quite a number outside this board) have both the S2000 and the NSX. Each car is great in their own way.
If you are in the Boston area, I'd be glad to give you a demo ride (as I have with others already).
The S2000 is easier to thread at the limit, but the NSX puts down power better and rewards smoothness. The S2000 is better in autocrosses but the NSX does better at the track.
On the street, the NSX is more civilized - quieter, smoother and more comfortable than the S2000. However, the S2000 sounds better (especially in a tunnel - which I just did again this last weekend!).

In fact, for those of you going to the Limerock event at the end of the month, there will be a bunch of NSX's in various stages of tune and aftermarket equipment present as well.

I owned my NSX (black/black) from '91 to '00. I agree each car is great in it's own way, but the NSX is the superior vehicle IMO.
If they were to make the next NSX with a roadster option (unlikely), I would consider going back.
BTW, my insurance for the NSX and S2000 were exactly the same! (from USAA).
