Not a connection really, but when I moved my car recently, I read some reviews on transportreviews.com and picked a broker with good reviews and everything worked out ok.

Fly out there or drive out with a friend.

Last weekend I drove from Madison to Philadelphia just to pick up a friends car. We did it in 29 hours with plenty of sleep.

I guess at the worst I could rent a rental car to get out and then drive the car back.... blaaa.... we'll see.... that would be better than driving out with a friend and having both of us drive back.... flying would be smarter... .i hate flying...

Too bad I don't hitchhike anymore, I've got the next week off, could have bopped on over to Iowa and then drove to you for expenses.

i have never heard of any problems with dependable auto shippers....but the only thing you could deal with is what you already mentioned about the time to get the car picked up and delivered since it's in bumf@ck.

I used FedEx Passport to ship my S2000 from Miami to LA a couple of years ago.

I've shipped a few cars to and from Hawaii, with no real issue. However, the big problem you can encounter with mainland shippers is if you live off of the beaten path. I know several people who have had to wait for months for the car to make it to them, in rural Wisconsin and the like. Seems like if there isn't enough cars to make the trip worth their while, they don't. The car just sits there until seveal other cars going to the same basic region come in, then they make one trip.
