What is the story behind all the stuffed monkeys hanging from the railings at Anaheims stadium?
And when did the name change from the California Angels to Anaheim?

Go Anaheim!!! A very worthy representative for the AL. I sure was hoping they played the A's in the ALCS. It's been nice seeing the 2 teams bang each other around all season.

Thanks for the info Da Hapa!
All I could find was this:
I guess ESPN jumped on the bandwagon. Pretty funny. We've been getting a kick out of the little kid behind home plate in the monkey suit. Looks like he/she is loaded up on caffeine. Has been in constant motion in every game at Anaheim.
Go Angels, Go Giants. Nice to see teams doing well that are middle of the road with their payroll.

Was just told this story regarding the rally monkey and its appearances at Anaheim:
:: Usually during a pitching change, a short film clip will appear with a monkey scene spliced
:: in. For example, I saw "Hunt for Red October" (someone correct
:: me if I'm wrong). Sean Connery looks into the periscope, looks back up
:: with an extremely grave expression on his face. Then, spliced in, is a
:: scene of what Connery just looked at: the Rally Monkey (scene through a
:: sub's periscope-type lines). Then the loud music will start ("Jump
:: Around" by Everlast's old group--did they have a name or was he just
:: Everlast?) and the monkey appears on screen jumping. I also saw the monkey
:: spliced into "The Sixth Sense." It's the scene where the kid
:: tells Bruce Willis he sees dead people. Except he says he sees monkeys.
:: And the music starts.
Sounds hilarious. Hopefully, whichever network has the rights to the world series will entertain us with these video clips. Also, I don't think I've ever seen a major league baseball stadium so inundated with the teams colors.
