Gary raises guide dogs. Guide dogs in training go everywhere with their "owners," including restaurants. Marcel came to many of my drilling jobs. Marcel flunked out of guide dog school so Gary got him back. Gary was extremely attached to him.

Yep...it's a good idea to feed your dog just dog food, as much as you're tempted it's just not a good idea to give them 'people' food. Their digestive system is significantly different than ours and there are alot of items that we eat regularly that can cause them serious harm. I'm very sorry to hear about his dog...dog's truly are man's best friend. I'm a big fan of a well disciplined dog as well...I have Doberman's and I could leave a steak on my kitchen floor all day while I go to work and if I tell them not to eat it then it will still be there when I get home. People oftem fail to realize that dog's have a 'pack mentality' and you need establish who's the leader and what the rules are. I would feel horrible if I left my dogs in a position where they could eat a pound of grapes...

Thanks for letting us know! I didn't know grapes were toxic to dogs.

However, even if I force-feed my dog grapes, he wouldn't eat them. He doesn't eat any vegetables or fruits, but only meats and sweets, such as cookies, etc.

Does that website list what types of foods are harmful to dogs as well? Cause my parents feed him stuff when I'm not home and then i get bitched at for him vomiting in the house.

Dayummm!!! Wish my dog would do the same, but truth be told, he would jump over me to get to the steak and if I tried to stop him, he would eat me too. But after all, he's 150lbs, only a few tens lighter than I, and very strong and he knows that. No, actually, he's somewhat disciplined but not as much as I'd like.
