im a huge nas fan, but that was one of his worst albums, right behind nastrodamous. i agree, hip hop sux now. there a very few new(er) albums i will listen too. jay-z, nas, lupe fiasco, kanye, the game and thats about it right now. all the rest is older stuff from the 90's when hip hop was hip hop. now its mostly crap. a lot of it is turning into pop music, with rappers with terrible voices singing (ja rule, 50-cent). they're all about making money and making it big and mainstream now. its so commercialized now, its terrible.

I have to say it really sucks....I know there are a lot more people that feel this way. If only some producers would step up and fix the industry, its a real shame. It's funny I have some really old jayz and eminem live freestyles from 10+yrs ago...omg they are so sick! I wonder what they have to say about this new pop hop style that's taken over hip hop.

ok so in an effort to reminiss like Pete Rock and CL Smooth would say....lets list out your top 10 favorite all time hip hop albums:

I know this is really hard, but that kinda makes it fun

Tribe Called Quest - Peoples INstictive Travels and the Path of funk and Rythm
Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Mauraduers
Roots - Illidelphi
Gangstarr - Moment of Truth
Black Moon -Enter da Stage
Biggie - Ready to Die
De La Soul - Stakes is High
Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Nas - illmatic
Dr Dre - The Chronic

there's no such thing as "good" hip hop anymore.

barry, u are totally forgetting the best lyricist in recent memory, Eminem

although i'm not the biggest fan of his later radio releases, his albums are usually very solid otherwise
I agree Em is the shit, the Marshall Mathers was his best CD.

I would also give a nod to Zack De La Rocha since he is the rap of RATM's rap/rock formula. His words carry a lot of meaning and he spits them like fire

Yeah De la Rocha was the man for Rage against the machine. Bring back old school Wu Tang Clan. I miss ODB though.
