It was going to be i7 920, evega mobo, evga 896/412 card, 8gb DDR3, Velociraptors etc etc
I have an old intel 5200 server case with hot swap and all that good stuff, thing is a monster at 26" long & 19" high. Ill probably still mod the fak out of it in preparation.

Why waste money on Intel? AMD, you get a lot more bang for the buck. Benchmarks of their top-line quad-core Phenom IIs are nearly as fast as Intel's for a hell of a lot cheaper. Unless you are heavily and I mean heavily into CAD graphics and such, you don't need the Intel's little, minute extra speed/power.
