Any NY driver get a speeding ticket in NJ?
Hey guys,
I just got my 1st speeding ticket of my 5 years of driving last night and it was in jersey Basically I think the speed limit all of sudden got lowered from like 55 to like 45 and then I was on a downhill so my car was going faster than I was usually going. I see a cop turn his car on as I passed him and I knew i was screwed.
So basically, he got me as doing a 67 in a 45. I look at the back and the fine for doing 20-24 over is $200 But even more, I'm afraid that it'll somehow affect my insurance. I looked it up on NY DMV and they do say that NY doesn't record points from out of state...so does that mean it will have no affect on my insurance as long as I pay off the fine?
I know it sucks and although I'm pissed because I wasn't intentionally speeding and got caught but I guess we live and learn. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.
