Hidden door has just a spring loaded ball bearing and dished striker plate that acts only as a detent.
That door had a satisfying "thunk" when it closed, looked to hang straight. It must have been very difficult to get all those hinges to line up straight too. I assume you reinforced those with long screws into the framing. I've though about, but never attempted, a similar project for fear that the bookcase would not carry the load of all the books my wife would stuff in.

The only books will be her cookbooks at the bottom
I did use 4" screws into the framing, and pulled the trim to add shims in the middle hinges.
I used a 6' straight steel rod to align the hinges on the door, then installed the door with the middle hinges flapping on the jam, marked the jam with a blade to get the height of each hinge, removed the stop and routed the hinges. I used the steel rod again with the 1/2 hinge in it to make sure it all lined up from top to bottom, removed the rod and bolted it in.
Amazingly, it all lined up...
The real purpose was to get some crap off the countertops, and get her cookbooks out of my automotive bookshelves.
Does feel like a bank vault.

If you think the video is long and are not interested in Jay describing the restoration work on the car, forward to around 10:30 to hear the car. Sounds awesome and it looks good in that Suzuka Blue-ish color too.
