I met Liam Dwyer at a CART track day event in August, 2010. He wasn't driving. Rather he was working as the "race director". He was the guy that I had to see when I went 4 off in that left hand turn in the infield. He gave me some advice regarding tire pressure, and out I went. I was pretty impressed with him, and at the end of the day, I learned he was shipping out to Afghanistan in a few days. Next I heard, he had been blown up by an IED.

He initially did some racing with High Performance Heroes. Now, apparently moving on. A couple of recent promos.

^ Liam Dwyer is a hero. I really admire his commitment to the sport and for overcoming those odds to race again.

BTW, he was the one that took out Lee C, at the race in Laguna Seca. Lee is understandably bitter about it. Liam supposedly lost feeling in his right foot (IIRC) and went straight into Lee's BMW taking them both out of the race. Luckily both were unhurt and walked away. Liam Dwyer went on to win the next race at Lime Rock and Lee was out a drive and possibly owing some money to his team.

Shelby GT 350 Mustang revealed. I love how it looks in this color combination. Something to be said about American racing colors

Everything is closed around here. South of us by ~5 miles is getting pounded with lake effect, but it is bright and sunny here.

Lake effect bands wandered up my way last night just as I was on my way home from the hospital, and stopped just as I got home.

Oh well, I was hoping for one last drive in the S. Guess I'll be turning the plates in to the DMV this weekend.

112 miles of thruway closed!

Be careful Marc and everyone else in that area, looks like they are going to get 2-3 feet of snow!

We have less than an inch here, but one of the roads I travel was sheer ice. A lot of tire tracks off the road, mailboxes hit, saw a set of tracks that looked like a car may have glanced off a telephone pole. Had a car do a 360 in front of me. Silly Season has begun!
