I'm not sure what modifications are involved in switching bumpers between AP1 and AP2. I think they are minor, as many people have done it. The problem with buying a used bumper is dealing with shipping and not being able to inspect it first. Personally, I would not put an AP1 bumper on an AP2, or the other way around. It would look out of place to those in the know, and I think it would affect resale value. I know I would be suspicious of a car that has the wrong year bumper on it. Makes me think it was damaged and repaired cheaply.

AP1 and AP2 bumpers are close, but the under trays are not the same, nor is the fitting around the metal bumper beam.

It's not plug and play to go from one to the other.

Oh well, so much for that idea then, thanks guys So I would need to find an 04 to 06 range.

I have no problem with resale issues - if this car gets sold I'll be below ground or senile

And, if I do buy used it would most likely be from somewhere I could go and look at it first - Tom could probably borrow the Formula shop Ody if we paid for gas. Worst case I could go look in the Civic or S and pay for shipping only if it's what I want.

Yikes! Guess I'll be living with mine for awhile I still need to get a quote to repair the crack - if it's even possible - and then see my paint guy.

May end up being cheaper to just look for a used piece... am I right in thinking any year bumper will bolt on?

I could claim the car as an AP 1.5 if I were to go with one from an older car, which I do like the look of. Options from 02 to 06 (Suzuka years) and would eliminate need for paint.
Whatever you do I dont see it costing you less than $400 either way.

I'm actually thinking I may just have the paint guy do the very bottom part... after it's fixed. The upper, actual bumper part is not bad and I really don't care if the color match is a little off.

Can't look ANY worse than it does now with the crack, scratches and chips.

Had good success just doing the bottom scratched part on my Silverstone. No one every noticed, and that was done by us at home, not at a shop

^ As long as driving it makes you feel like a millionaire, without having to spend a fortune, its all good.

Dont spend on unneeded repairs. Do it when the time is right for you

That's mostly my thought. But I love pictures of it and want it to look it's best Plus I know many guys see the lip now and think, Damn women drivers, can't park for shit!

I "owned" my brush with concrete in the Silverstone - I had nothin to do with this one though and it's far worse than the little tap I did

First money will be front pads. Then depending on how much the quote is for crack repair/paint I'll either do that or look for wheels. Eventually I will track down a super sweet deal on a blue top. I have no problem buying used.
