Default Winter Storage

Done for the season. Car is washed, waxed and going into hibernation later today. A little earlier than past cars but travel for work dictates it.

I'll still be lurking on this site over the winter. See you all next year.

I set my record for the latest in the season driving the S last year. I drove it November 29th.

I was really hoping to get a day in driving it in December. Alas, December 1st was the first day the roads were salted last year and I put the S into hibernation shortly thereafter.

I will be doing the final wash and wax as well as the end of year oil change very soon, but I won't be tucking it away for good until the salt hits the roads.

I have no choice due to my work schedule. I went over to where the 240 is stored to swap the trickle charger (I needed the one with the longer cord) and it turns out I forgot to put it in gear last time I was there. It rolled forward hittng the garage door. Fortunately no damage but I had to pull up on the door while using the electric opener. Pretty scary actually.

I drove mine to work today, top down, 25 degrees when I left the house!

Got it inspected today so I'm good with registration/inspection until 10/2011.

Having said that, mine will probably get a final detail and get put to bed in the
next couple of weeks, along with my motorcycle.

Wow lucky there was no damage.

When you put it in gear, I've been told to put it in reverse when doing long term storage.

I pushed it til Dec 19th last year - bad decision though - 19 degrees and snow forecast that day.

I have no formal storage so mine will play until they salt the roads or it just gets too cold to make it fun

On the upside - when the cover comes off in March - I will be surprised all over again when I see what color it is
