If I was a GM engineer, I would have buried that relay someplace, just relocating it would have solved the problem, more insulaton is not really needed.
427 badges on the hood, good call Oscar!
Next question- as I have been going through the process of putting batteries back in cars I got to thinking. What would happen if your battery died, or, can you remove your battery in the winter if you wanted to take it inside, say your garage was not heated? The question is coming from the door and latch "handles". It felt to me like they were totally electronic, there was no lever being moved by my fingers, my fingers were just activating an electric switch that then in turn released the door or latch. What happens if there is no power going to those switches, can you get into the car?

Excellent question.....there is a 'key' hidden in the key fob that allows one to manually open the rear hatch...at that point there are hidden pull levers on each side to open each respected door.....also in the interior (flanking the seats) are additional levers, much like the typical gas door release levers to open the doors in case of emergency (submergence, etc)
And about the article on the GT-R, it was a short term test on a simple track, pushing 3800+ lbs for an extended period would diminish overall performance as time wore on... brakes, tires, etc. (an automatic to boot) HHH.. as a veteran track person you know better.........As Al White used to say "We'll be watching"
PS Track specs (Z06) used in comparison were from '06 model, suspension upgraded in '07 and again in '08.......and as a last parting shot the GT-R is is technically neat but too 'FUGLY' to me...................team designed.....but no one talked to each other

O........ Car looked great, the flared out fenders really set it apart from a standard vette.
I agree the GT-R styling doesn't do it for me and a 2+2 doesn't cut it as a true sports car.
I will admit I am amazed at the performance based on 6 cylinders and 3800 lbs. , but it dies out at it's higher end and can't catch the vette (and the vette is naturally aspirated) .
Put a supercharger on the vette and you get ZR-1 620 hp and you can't see the GT-R in the rear view mirror.

So, another question, this electronic door/hatch system, is this Z06 specific or do even the plain C6 versions get it?
Logic had nothing to do with it Oscar, I was just looking to ya...
