The VFR's do a bit of lake hopping...
The route was very simple, and we only had a few hours after work, but it was a great chance for Mark and I to get together and go stretch the legs on the VFR's. After we got east of Honeoye I sort of deviated from the planned route because we were good with time, and I wanted to take in a few more back roads. One of the roads we took was the road I grew up on in West Bloomfield; it's always a trip for me to blast over the hill and then steeply down into the valley on a motorcycle, because as a kid, I must have done it a million times on my pedal bikes, I think I really pulled away fro Mark there.
A simple but fun route of about 75 miles, we got to see Conesus Lake, Hemlock Lake and Honeoye Lake, and drove by the north end of Canadice Lake.
Our Ride began at Tom Wahl's in Avon for a quick dinner, the bikes looked so great in the sun, both sporting our RKA tank bags. Mark has a red '05, a GEN6 with VTEC, I have the yellow '00, a GEN5 with gear driven cams.
After our gas stop in Honeoye we pulled over for a quick group shot.
What a great night for a ride.
Mark we should do this again!!! I can make a different kind of route with no problem, if we start our rides from my area the number of choices I have is vortually unlimited.

I think we left Tom Wahl's about 6:45 and I think I was home by about 8:15???
Honestly, I want to see how Mark answers that, I'm not really sure.
We had a couple decent length stretches of 45 where we ran no more than 50.
For the most part where it was 55 and we were running about 62-65.
Of course you also have to consider, about 75% of the route had caution deer signs along it...

Fun ride. Had some good runs through VTEC well in to 3rd gear. Had to get on the binders pretty hard at one point. I was enjoying an uphill left handed sweeper a little bit more than Doug. Didn't realize how fast I caught up to him!
Love the sound of Doug's aftermarket exhaust. A little louder than I would like, but sounds great! I would like to find one that is mid way between stock and the Staintune.
We need more twistys!! I got spoiled in North Carolina last year.
We should try and do this monthly.

Doug, I meant to tell you, I wasn't sure what I thought about an orange helmet with a yellow bike, but after following you, I can tell you it works. Good that it is not the high visability orange like Ellen's helmet. I don't think that would work with the yellow.

Speaking of Doug's exhaust...
...he got the attention of the Harly guy when we pulled up next to him at a light. The guy immeadiately looked over, and then spent some time looking at the bike.

This has to be one of the most awesome things I have ever read
Thanks Mark for that observation
