Oh, and one of my favorite questions to a seller
"If you were keeping the bike and planning to start riding it on a regular basis, what would be the things you most want the motorcycle shop to do, so as to get it ready for summer riding?"
Owners typically know what a vehicle needs next, but don't offer this up as they don't want the for sale item to sound like it needs a lot of work. As an example when I sold the Nighthawk I made it perfectly clear to Jon, get the front fork fluids done ASAP as well as the brake fluids as they are old, very old. People just don't offer up this info, and I just don't see this info as being a deal breaker one way or the other, but it is the best kind of thing for a new owner to know so things can be done in the right priority.

Going to contact the seller today, but I'm a bit nervous about this one.
The seller owns a store in MI, but the ebay feedback isn't exactly stellar. Sounds like they will sell a ride to someone else after the auction is over if they don't get a price they like...

You have to just look into it and go one step at a time
Don't let other people's opinions sway you too much
Give the seller a chance to prove himself
Maybe the issue is the buyers, not the seller
Ya just never know
It's good to be cautious for sure, but see how it goes
And for sure, listen to your gut

Bid is up to $2375 right now.
I do plan on bidding on it later, I'm just having a real crisis of conscience. The seller's feedback is not inspiring much confidence in me. I'd really hate to drive all the way out there to find it sold out from under me.
I really would love to have a like new 599. I also want to spend more money on house projects
